LOUIS COUNTY POLICE DEPARTMENT, THERE ARE CURRENTLY 40 OTHER LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES USING CARE IN THE STATE MISSOURI. OF THE 40 AGENCIES, 36 ARE LOCATED IN ST. LOUIS COUNTY. IN ORDER FOR THE SYSTEM TO REACH ITS FULL CAPABILITIES, GRANT FUNDING WILL BE USED TO HIRE A PROGRAMMER TO DEVELOP AND IMPLEMENT ENHANCEMENTS TO CARE. THE PROPOSED ENHANCEMENTS INCLUDE: AN AUTOMATED DASHBOARD THAT UTILIZES CRIME STATISTICS FROM MULTIPLE CARE AGENCIES FOR REAL-TIME COMPARISONS, PREFORMATTED REPORTS FOR NIBRS STYLE DATA, IMPROVED SEARCH FUNCTIONALITY, AND ELECTRONIC REPORT SHARING AMONG CARE AGENCIES. JAG DRUG TASK FORCE GRANT FUNDS WILL BE USED TO SUPPORT THE SOUTH EAST AREA DRUG OPERATIONS GROUP (SEADOG) THAT WAS FORMED TO COMBAT THE DRUG PROBLEM IN THE REGION AND TO HELP COORDINATE THE EFFORTS OF OUR STAKEHOLDERS IN THE REGION IN THE GOVERNMENT, THE PRIVATE, AND THE PUBLIC SECTOR. WE RECOGNIZE THAT OUR EFFORTS MUST INCLUDE EDUCATION, TREATMENT, AND ENFORCEMENT TO BE EFFECTIVE SEADOG HAS ENGAGED IN OUTGOING THREAT ASSESSMENT OF THE DRUG PROBLEM IN THE REGION: GATHERING AND SHARING INFORMATION FROM A WIDE VARIETY OF SOURCES EACH WITH THEIR OWN UNIQUE EXPERTISE. SEADOG IS ABLE TO COMBINE AND SHARE RESOURCES WITH OTHER DRUG ENFORCEMENT EFFORTS SUCH A MILWAUKEE HIDTA. AS A REGIONAL DRUG ENFORCEMENT TASK FORCE, SEADOG IS ABLE TO COORDINATE INVESTIGATIONS OF DRUG TRAFFICKING ORGANIZATION THAT OPERATE IN THE REGION AND BEYOND.
