The grants below have been awarded to one of the cities or counties we are currently tracking in this database. It is not a complete list of all grants awarded from this assistance program, which may include additional cities, counties, or other jurisdictions and/or grants not awarded to law enforcement agencies.

We do not recommend aggregating the amounts shown here, as these grants may include both prime and sub grants. Totaling the grant amount here would result in some funding being double-counted – for example, if a county received a grant and subsequently made a sub-grant to a city within the county.

Toledo, Ohio CITY OF TOLEDO
VIOLENT CRIMES, ESPECIALLY THOSE ASSOCIATED WITH GUNS AND GANGS, AFFECT EVERYONE. THIS RANGES FROM THE LOSS OF A LOVED ONE TO THE INABILITY TO ALLOW CHILDREN TO PLAY IN THEIR FRONT YARD IN FEAR OF WHAT MIGHT HAPPEN. SOME RESIDENTS IN TOLEDO EXPERIENCE THIS DAILY. IT IS THROUGH COLLABORATIVE EFFORTS, WITH OTHER LAW ENFORCEMENT ENTITIES AND COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT THAT THE CITY OF TOLEDO WILL ESTABLISH DEDICATED PATROLS AIMED AT INCREASING GANG MEMBER CONTACTS AND REDUCING HOMICIDES, NONFATAL SHOOTINGS, AND SHOTS FIRED CALLS FOR SERVICE WITHIN THE DESIGNATED AREA. A DETERRENCE-BASED STRATEGY WITH AN OFFENDER/HOTSPOT FOCUS WILL BE APPLIED IN THE IDENTIFIED AREA. REPEAT OFFENDERS IN THE VIOLENT HOTSPOTS WILL BE SUBJECTED TO INCREASED POLICE ATTENTION, RANGING FROM SURVEILLANCE AND NON-CONFRONTATIONAL CONTACT TO ARRESTS BASED UPON THE OFFENDER'S BEHAVIOR. STATISTICAL ANALYSIS WILL BE COMPLETED AND A LIST OF PRIORITY OFFENDERS WILL BE IDENTIFIED/UPDATED WITH THE OFFENDERS SUBJECTED TO INCREASED SURVEILLANCE, ATTENTION, AND ENFORCEMENT. IF AN OFFENDER IS UNDER SUPERVISION WITH THE APA, ARRANGEMENTS WILL BE MADE TO ENSURE A HOME VISIT IS CONDUCTED. GANG SWEEPS WILL BE HELD; TARGETING GANG MEMBERS AND THOSE INVOLVED IN VIOLENT CRIMES. ADDITIONALLY DEDICATED HOTSPOT PATROLS WILL BE CONDUCTED TO SERVE AS A DETERRENCE FACTOR THROUGH A VISIBLE PRESENCE. FINALLY, COMMUNITY MEETINGS WILL BE HELD; PROVIDING THE RESIDENTS AND OPPORTUNITY TO HAVE A SAY IN THE PROJECT IN THEIR NEIGHBORHOOD. THE RESIDENTS WILL PROVIDE VITAL FEEDBACK REGARDING THE POLICING EFFORTS IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD AND HAVE A FORUM TO IDENTIFY SPECIFIC PROBLEMS/AREAS THEY WOULD LIKE ADDRESSED.
