THE JACKSON COUNTY PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE WILL FUND A PORTION OF THE SALARY OF A DIVISION MANAGER OF THE NEW START DIVERSION PROGRAM. TWO INVESTIGATION UNITS TARGET AN ORGANIZATION'S ENTIRE NETWORK OF DISTRIBUTORS AND CUSTOMERS BY IDENTIFYING DRUG TRAFFICKERS AND THE METHODS OF DISTRIBUTION. THEY FOCUS ON NEIGHBORHOOD DRUG DEALERS AND NUISANCE HOUSES, AND DEVELOP AN INFORMANT NETWORK FOR IDENTIFYING LARGER ORGANIZATIONS. THESE TWO UNITS ALSO DIRECT INVESTIGATIONS TOWARD INDIVIDUALS AND GROUPS INVOLVED IN THE MANUFACTURING OF METH, WITH EMPHASIS ON PRECURSOR DIVERSION INVESTIGATIONS. THE PRIMARY FOCUS IS THE PURCHASE OF NARCOTICS UTILIZING A JCDTF UNDERCOVER DETECTIVE. THE JCDTF PROVIDES AN IMMEDIATE RESPONSE TO THOSE DRUG PROBLEMS WHICH POSE IMMINENT THREAT TO THE SECURITY AND WELL-BEING OF THE COMMUNITIES IT SERVES IN JACKSON COUNTY. DART PERSONNEL REPORT SUSPECTED DRUG ACTIVITY TO LAW ENFORCEMENT SO THAT SELLERS CAN BE ARRESTED AND PROSECUTED. DART COORDINATES PROPERTY INSPECTIONS FOR HOUSING AND FIRE CODE VIOLATIONS TO DETERMINE IF PROPERTIES SHOULD BE VACATED OR ARE UNINHABITABLE. DART ALSO WORKS WITH PROPERTY OWNERS TO ELIMINATE ILLEGAL ACTIVITY ON THEIR PROPERTY. WHEN NECESSARY, DART HANDLES EXPEDITED EVICTION, NUISANCE, AND FORFEITURE ACTIONS.
